בדיוק לפני שנה, פנו אלי הורי ילדה שהלכה עם ביתי למשפחתון- והזמינו אותי לקבוצת מיקוד בביתם- בנושא ספרים דיגיטלים.

האמא- אמי ספרד, מאיירת שהערצתי עוד רבות לפני כן, והאב המתכנת הביישן והמקסים- ליאור שטרם- קראו על התענינותי בנושא בבלוג- וביקשו חוות דעת על פרויקט חדש בהקמה

בערב נעים, מצאתי עצמי , נרגשת יושבת בינות כ-10 מאיירים אחרים, בדירת הזוג הנעימה בתל-אביב, ומקשיבה להרצאה מקצועית ועתירת ידע בנושא שחשבתי שידעתי עליו הכל.

הזוג, שביקש ליצור תכנה שתאפשר להעלות ספרים דיגיטלים ללא עזרת הוצאות יקרות- לרשת

בירר וידע כל מחיר, כל פרט, על כל ספר דיגיטלי או תכנה שיש- וביקש את דעתינו כיוצרים- אם היינו משתמשים בתכנה כזו.

כטכנופובית מקצועית ציינתי שהייתי מעדיפה שמישהו בשר ודם יעבוד איתי

ואכן

לאחר כמה ימים- החליט הזוג המוצלח ל"התגלח" עם התכנה עלי.

חיפשנו טקסט- ויכלתי לחשוב רק על סיפור של צ'אפק שקראתי בילדותי ועסקתי בו כבר בעבר

עיבדתי אותו לסיפור קליל על ילדה שיודעת לעוף- עד שהאקדמיה בוחנת אותה

הוספתי סוף יותר "עדין" מהמקורי, שלחנו לתרגום אצל ידידתי הטובה, המתרגמת- אורלי בן-נון

והתחלנו לעבוד על הטקסט כמו על תסריט לסרט.

מעבר לעבודת החלוקה לעמודים מבחינת ויזואלית- היה עלינו להחליט מה יהיו ה"טריקים" האינטראקטיבים בכל סצנה

.

עלי לציין שליאור עמד בגבורה רבה בכל דרישותיי הילדותיות ואף הפתיע אותי באופציות שלא הכרתי.

השלב הבא היה הקלטה בשתי שפות באולפן והתחלת דיבור על אפקטים של סאונד ומוסיקה כללית.

גבריאלה-הקריינית,הצחיקה אותנו שעות בחיקויים ושירים וקולות שונים לדמויות- זה היה כיף ענק ועל חשבון ליאור !- כי כך הוא עובד.

הכל עליו- והתמלוגים מתחלקים- שווה , לא ?

ערן- האיש והסאונד- ידע לנשוף ולצפצף כל צליל של כל קפיץ שביקשתי – עם כל הניואנסים השונים- כישרון אמיתי.

עכשיו הגיע תורי .

התחלנו עם עיצוב הדמות וסקיצות לכל מסך

ואחרי חודשים של תיקונים, ובאגים, ושכבות של איור בחלוקה מדוקדקת ומדויקת, ושעות של האזנה למוסיקה ואפקטים שונים

הגענו למשהו כזה

שילבנו מלא משחקים בפנים- דפי צביעה, והחלפת תלבושות, ונגינה על צבעים מוסיקלים

אפקטים אינטראקטיבים של תזוזה, תגובה, קולות והתפתחות סיפורית

את האייקונים והגרפיקה ביצעה ללא התנגדות- אחותו של ליאור

והיום, ביום הזה ממש-

עלתה האפליקציה הגמורה לחנות האייטונז.

A softened-up adaptation of Czech writer Capek's short story, "The Man Who Knew How to Fly," this cheerily illustrated app still manages to convey a sense of what's lost when we leave childhood.

The ebullient girl in a red beret and polka-dot dress sails above fields and her cottage home, buoyed by starry magic. Drawn in a Golden Age vintage style, the girl's rosy cheeks and sweet smile follow her even into her sleep, where she dreams of her own airborne adventures. But soon, she's visited by a quartet of witch-like village teachers who demand to know how she flies and to measure her skill. Of course, that saps the magic from the little girl's talent, and soon she's not flying at all, left only with memories of what she once had. If that sounds depressing, most parents reading might agree, but the app does a skillful job of avoiding a maudlin conclusion with (one might say overly) upbeat music and a regained smile. The app blends its retro look with solid app design and a few well-integrated extras, like a coloring-book page, a dress-up game and the option of tilting the iPad to guide the little girl's aerial movements.

It's an adaptation that manages a tricky balance between heartfelt and hokey within an app that has a distinctive look and feel. (iPad storybook app. 3-7)

She would fly around outside all day and by nighttime she would fall asleep with a smile on her face. One day the little girl is faced with a group of people who want her to prove that she can fly. The group has specific demands on how the little girl must fly and by time she is done satisfying their demands she has forgotten how to fly at all. That night the little girl goes to bed sad, but the next day when she wakes the little girl decides that she is going to draw a picture of her memories from flying. When she has finished the picture is so beautiful it makes her happy again. The story of “The Little Girl Who Could Fly” can be read with the narration and sound turned on or off.

“The Little Girl Who Could Fly” app by YellowPixie is full of interactive elements. Children can help the little girl fly around the screen and play with her toys while she is asleep at night. Several mini games are also hidden throughout the story and at the end, your child can help the little girl color her picture. Today we are stepping outside our typical app reviews for the iPad and looking at an interactive book. Because of their interactive elements, these titles stray over into the app category. This particular title, The Little Girl Who Could Fly from YellowPixie, is an animated, illustrated adapatation of Karl Capek's children's book, The Man Who Knew How to Fly.

The digital book opens with an illustrated page that has the book's credits, a start reading button and two toggles for controlling the background sound and the narration. The narration is pleasant and is an excellent accompaniment for younger children. Each page of the book has navigation arrows that let you move back and forward through the pages. There's also a home button and a toggle to turn off the background sound on every page.

The 20 or so illustrations throughout the book are light-hearted and colorful. They are animated and move along with the story. Each page is filled with adventure as there are three to six illustrated items that'll move or make a noise when your child taps on them. My favorite is the teacher's hat that'll do a flip when you tap on it. Your child can also tilt the iPad and control the main character when she is flying.

There are also two mini-games within the book. One will let your child color along with the lead character and another is a dress-up game that the little girls in the audience will enjoy. The games pop up in the middle of the story, but they fit in with the story line. As a result, the games add to the story and only minimally distract from it.

The storyline about a girl who proves she can fly is fun. My children read the book, both with me and by themselves, several times. It's definitely geared towards the younger set, but it's not an early reader like See Jack Run. It's a storybook with a delightful tale that's perfect for a parent or an older sibling to read to their three to six-year-old.

Set aside some time when you first read the book to your child as some of the words are long. You may have to explain the meaning of words like delegation and 90-degree angle, before you let them loose on their own.

עם עלאי גורדון- הכל רץ ומתקתק מהר. סקיצות שחור לבן מהירות שהרצתי לו כבר באותו ערב- קבלו את מלוא היד האמנותית החפשית וברכתו

תוך פחות משבוע כבר היו כל 12 המסכים מוכנים תוך שהוא עומל על הצד הטכני מעברו השני של הצ'אט הפייסבוקי

– אני מראה פה רק חלק כדי לא להרוס את ההפתעה- זו אפליקציה מתוקה מתוקה לילדים- על ילדים מסביב לעולם- היכן הם גרים, מה הם אוכלים- ואיך הם אומרים שלום..

וכאן המקום להוריד את הכובע לזכר שני איורים שלא זכו להכנס…

חשבתי שיקח מלא זמן לסיים את הצד הטכני, ולשלוח לאפל, ולחכות לאישור-

אבל כבר הלילה קבלתי את המייל המשמח המבשר על העלאת האפליקציה !!!

לפני כמה חדשים, פנו אלי צמד חמד יוצרי אפליקציות מהממות- אייל ואוראל
ושכרו אותי לעשות מה שכל ילדת ברבי חולמת לעשות כל חייה
לשחק ולהלביש בובות יפהפיות.

בהתחלה בחרנו חלקי גוף וקומפוזיציה מארסנל צלליות שהיה לי בתוסף הצורות של הפוטושופ. ניתן להוסיף לצורות הפשוטות שבאות עם התכנה בחיפוש באנטרנט, או ליצור צורות בעצמך וכו. אני הוספתי מלא דמויות- זה עוזר לי עם סקיצות ראשוניות.

אחרי שסגרנו על פוזיציה, והוספתי פנים של בובה מתוקה, נותרו כל מיני קביעות עיצוביות לפתור- היות והבובה הזו תשמש למליון שמלות ועיצובים
אז למשל- האם מותר שישיה לה שיער לאו דוקא בצבעים רגילים ? האם מספיק לשנות את גווני הפנים כדי לעשות בובות שונות או יש צורף בסממני פנים ותווים שונים גם כן ??

אוראל נתנה לי יד חפשית בעיצובי האפנה- שזה היה הכיף הגדול של כל העבודה הזו
להוסיף מלא שמלות עם קישוטים וארנקים קטנים ועגילים קטנים- טוב- הבנות בינכם- יודעות למה אני מתכונת…

ככה יצא לנו מלאי מטורף של עיצובים- שמה שאני מראה פה הוא ממש ממש הקצה של הקצה – כי לכל שמלה ועיצוב יש 4-5 גוונים ועיטורים ולכל בובה- אין סוף תסרוקות וצבעים..

קצת מקרוב יותר- נכון שזו העבודה הכי כיפית של הלייף ?

אייל ואוראל עבדו בנתיים על חדר מהמם עם מלא גאדג'טים ואפשרויות ולינקים ומשחקים קטנים כמו – טיסה לחו"ל עם הבובה- למקום שתבחרו, יציאה עם הכלב, שינוי עיצוב החדר ועוד מלא דברים

מעבר להלבשת הבובה בבגדים מהממים מהמלתחה …

אחרי כל זה- פתאום היה שקט. מחכים. מחכים לאישור מאפל… מחכים

ומה אתם חושבים קרה ביום בו ירדתי לקנות לחם וחזרתי עם איי פד חדש דנדש מבאג ?

קבלתי מייל משמח ובו הודעה על עליית האפליקציה השלמה והמוכנה !
